Alaskan jazz singer-songwriter Halie Loren brings her talents to WSLR on Sunday, January 7!
Loren’s impressive career includes performances with the Jazz Orchestra of Sicily, the Corvallis-OSU Symphony Orchestra in Oregon, and the Monroe Symphony in Louisiana. She has toured worldwide, with notable performances in Canada, Japan, Italy, China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. She has also recorded nine jazz albums, three of which reached number one on the Billboard Japan Top 20 Jazz Albums chart. Her debut album, “They Oughta Write A Song,” won best vocal jazz album at the 2009 Just Plain Folks awards, and in 2010 became Japan’s second highest-selling jazz album.
Loren will be performing with internationally-acclaimed jazz pianist Ariel Pocock, who has just released her second album “Living in Twilight” earlier this year, accompanied by Brandon Robertson on the upright bass and Rick Costa on the drums. You will not want to miss this performance!
